By its' cyclical nature, MoreFairGame is very time-sensitive, and a significant advantage is offered to those who can be present at or near the start of a round.
However, some features of the game are designed to provide assistance to rankers that join later on in a round.
Since the generation of power (and therefore points) is dependant on the number of rankers above you in the ladder, joining later tends to result in the ranker gaining power and points faster than those who were around at the round start.
As the round progresses, ladders towards the start of the round are given the [FAUTO] modifier, which effectively locks in promotion_requirement for that ladder by forcing rankers out once they reach the top.
The formula for which ladders have [FAUTO] applied is as follows:
FAUTO := ladder_number <= floor(top_ladder / 2) - 2
This means that the first ladder will have the [FAUTO] modifier applied once L6 unlocks, and every two ladder unlocks thereafter will apply [FAUTO] to the following ladder.
This does not apply to ladders with the [NAUTO] modifier.
